Position Summary

The Associate Director, Residence Life (ADRL) is a vital student affairs leader at the University of Victoria and serves as a senior leader within Residence Services. As a student housing and community life professional, the ADRL has accountability for the strategic development, leadership, and management of the Residence Life portfolio at UVic.

This leader utilizes grounded, contemporary theory, pedagogy, and professional standards to operate a comprehensive, leading, and vibrant program inclusive of effective crisis and emergency response. UVic Residence Life is comprised of 125+ employees (professional and student paraprofessional) in teams of community life, conduct, education, and student support.

This position is located in Victoria, British Columbia. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, however, priority will be given to applicants legally entitled to work in Canada at time of application (incl. Canadian citizens and permanent residents). 

The salary range for this position is $109,568 – $157,508; the successful candidate will be placed based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity, between the developmental floor and the competitive ceiling ($150,660) for the range .

This salary is supplemented with a comprehensive total compensation and benefits package including pension plan.

Relocation assistance will be available for the successful candidate, if applicable.

An employee in this classification is excluded from the bargaining unit as defined in the Labour Relations Code.
