SUMMARY
Leads a comprehensive student involvement program; manages social, developmental, and educational activities and facilities that engage students, faculty and staff; advises student leaders and student organizations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Trains and supervises the Assistant Director of Student Involvement and a large staff of student employees
• Mentors students and works closely with student leaders
• Plans and implements new student SOAR and Orientation programs, working collaboratively with Admissions and other staff and directing a team of student mentors
• Provides leadership and education for faculty and professional staff advisors of student organizations.
• Plans, supervises, and attends social, developmental, and/or educational programs and activities for students and helps to coordinate campus-wide events such as Homecoming, Welcome Week, and Senior Week.
• Coordinates a system of more than 50 registered student clubs and organizations
• Oversees the administration of the online Engage portal
• Assists the Vice-President for Student Affairs program operations and logistics for the Centenary in Paris program
• Oversees budgets for student involvement, new student programming, union programming, the Centenary Activities Board, and Fraternity and Sorority Life.
• Advises the Centenary Activities Board
• Indirectly supervise Fraternity and Sorority Life, overseeing recruitment, providing leadership development and training for student leaders and advisors, managing conduct and conflict resolution, and working closely with the Interfraternity, Panhellenic, and National Pan-Hellenic Councils and Order of Omega
• Supervises the Campus Information Center and college switchboard.
• Oversees Moore Student Union Building maintenance, operations, and improvements.

• Approve campus events for Passport Points credit, allowing undergraduate students to earn up to $2,000 toward educational international travel by attending campus events
• Serves on committees and additional projects, duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Assistant Director of Student Involvement. Directly or indirectly supervises all interns and student workers related to orientation, student activities, the information center, and student union operations, including managers for the Student Union Building.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
MINIMUM
• Bachelor’s + 5 years or Advanced degree + 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Prior involvement with large-scale campus programming, and student group advising. Must be a people-oriented individual, possess good communication skills, and have the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
• A commitment to the engagement and holistic development of students
• Ability to fulfill job requirements in a high-energy, high-traffic area and willingness to work some nights and weekends
PREFERRED
• Master's degree in higher education administration, college student development, counseling, or a related field and 3 years of professional experience in student activities, fraternity and sorority life, orientation, or related areas.
• Involvement with Fraternity and Sorority Life
• Excellent computer skills. Prior experience with Banner, Anthology Engage and/or Microsoft Access is a plus.
• Previous supervisory experience
• A demonstrated commitment to professional involvement and development
• Experience with a selective, residential, Liberal Arts college.
