The Resident Director (RD) position is expected to respond to students in crisis, follow up on CARE (Coordinate, Assessment, Response, Education) concerns, and engage regularly with residents in their area.

Duties may include:

  • Supervising 8-20 student staff and one Senior Resident Assistant.
  • Providing assistance to residential students regarding all aspects of their residential, academic, and personal journey.
  • Advising Housing Area Team student council (HATS) and oversee the facilitation of community development.
  • Leading retention efforts in areas assigned.
  • Serving as a conduct hearing officer as needed.
  • Assisting with University and departmental recruitment efforts, and performing administrative and managerial tasks associated with the assigned areas.
  • Working collaboratively in small-group teams to direct and coordinate various departmental projects.
  • Operating in Housing systems such as StarRez, Roompact, Advocate, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
