 Job Responsibilities:

The residence hall coordinator is a twelve month, live-in position responsible for the overall administrative and programmatic aspects of a residence hall, housing 275-500 students. The Residence Hall Coordinator will coordinate a student-oriented Residence Life Program in a hall of 450 students, supervise 9-14 Resident Advisors, coordinate programming, academic support and initiatives, community development, advising, conduct, facilities, collaborate within the department and division, and administration.  The Residence Hall Coordinator Position reports directly to the Director of Residence Life of Campus Living for the first year of employment.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel or related area.  Housing experience preferred. Candidates should possess knowledge of student development theory, counseling, welcoming, communication, crisis management, and administration.

Renumeration: $44, 500 base salary for twelve months. Furnished apartment, meal plan plus excellent benefits including health insurance, and up to $1500 of professional development funding, if allowed by University guidelines.  

Domestic Partner Policy: All Coordinators’ employed by the Office of Campus Living may request that one additional adult roommate and/or dependent children be allowed to live with the staff member in the apartment provided within their building or area of responsibility.

Pet Policy: Only one pet, dog or cat, is permitted per staff member's residence. Only dogs that do not exceed the range of "middle weight" as determined by East Carolina University will be allowed.

Dogs must attend training and complete within two months. All liability for the actions of the animal in direct contact with others (bites, scratches, etc.) is the responsibility of the owner, not Campus Living or East Carolina University. Staff members must pick up immediately after their pets and dispose of their waste properly. Waste is to be disposed of in a dumpster outside of buildings, not in trash rooms.
