The Assistant Director, Marketing & Experience provides leadership to the LBJ Student Center Marketing & Experience team. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic initiatives to enhance marketing, branding, promotional activities, sales, and user experience. The Assistant Director fosters innovative and collaborative efforts that engage students, staff, alumni, and visitors. This position directly supervises a marketing coordinator and a graduate student and indirectly supervises student employees. Additionally, with the assistance of a graduate student, the Assistant Director oversees Georgeâ€

s, a popular hangout spot in the LBJ Student Center.
Job Duties:
Marketing Strategy and Brand Management 30%
- Create and execute marketing campaigns to promote services and programs, maximize space utilization, and realize revenue potential.
- Manage social media, website content, and digital marketing efforts.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all materials and platforms.
- Foster a positive and recognizable brand image, maintaining visual identity and branding guidelines.
- Monitor and analyze marketing campaign effectiveness, providing regular reports and recommendations.
Student Center Experience 30%
- Manage services, offerings, and collaborations within Georgeâ€
s and future concept in Bokoâ€
s Living Room to maximize campus impact and revenue opportunities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a dynamic and engaging environment.
Supervisory/Management 20%
- Recruit, hire, train, and lead the Marketing and Experience team, including a marketing coordinator, graduate student, and student employees.
- Manage the marketing and experience budget, including purchasing, staffing costs, and revenue monitoring.
- Lead regular meetings, conduct trainings, and develop training manuals and resources.
Collaboration and Data Analysis 10%
- Collaborate with Event Services to develop promotional/upsell opportunities.
- Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, and external partners to develop programs and activities that boost traffic and create memorable experiences at the student center.
- Monitor and analyze marketing campaign effectiveness, providing regular reports and recommendations.
- Gather and analyze feedback from students and visitors to improve services and facilities.
Administrative 10%
- Monitor Department Budget
- Serve as a vital member of the LBJ Student Center leadership team, developing reports and handling special projects.
- Represent the department on relevant committees, actively participating and reporting back.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies, branding techniques, and promotional activities.
- Understanding of best practices for managing social media, websites, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Ability to balance marketing, experience management, and administrative duties effectively.
- Knowledge of event marketing, upselling strategies, and audience engagement techniques.
- Familiarity with user experience (UX) principles to enhance student and visitor engagement.
- Knowledge of student engagement, campus partnerships, and university operations.
- Proficiency in Monday.com or similar project management tools for workflow organization and team coordination.
- Ability to enforce brand guidelines and maintain a unified visual identity.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team with professionals and students.
- Be able to work a flexible work schedule; evenings and weekends as required or deemed important for effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of financial planning, purchasing procedures, and revenue forecasting. Familiarity with user experience (UX) principles to enhance student and visitor engagement.
- Knowledge of student engagement, campus partnerships, and university operations.
- Master's Degree
